Jamia Millia Islamia University by recognizing the Government of India’s decision to observe October 31 as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day), is celebrating the day in the campus today.
 
As a mark of honour for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's contributions to India's unity, safety and security, his birth anniversary will be celebrating as National Unity Day on October 31, every year.
 
Following the decision university is conducting numbers of events and activities, showing gratitude towards him. These events and activities would contribute to reinforce the inherent strength of our countr5r in respect of unity,integrity and security.
 
 

'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas': the events

  • Lecture by Shri Prashant Kumar, former Governor of Jharkhand and ex-Cabinet Secretary, Government of India
  • Lecture by Prof. Shamsur Rehman Faruqi on'Urdu Literature and National Integration'
 
The Vice-Chancellor welcomes all the faculty members and students from various departments and centres of the university to attend these two lectures to disseminate the message of unity, public safety and security to the wider civil society.
