F.r.i.e.n.d.s.h.i.p.

I have a fetish for collecting quotes. I have been doing it since I was fourteen.  This interest can perhaps be traced back to my interest in reading.

Over time, this strange hobby has evolved from being restricted to books. Now I look for other sources of inspiration, notably movies and sit-coms.

I try to work these quotes into daily conversations. And if I get a ‘I know where you got that’ look from someone, that person is mentally marked as special. That’s how I met my best friend.

One day, I was hurriedly exiting the elevator when I bumped into someone. I was rushing and ‘forgot’ to apologize. My lack of sorry was met by a ‘Bi*#$’. My immediate response was ‘jerk’. I looked back to see a goofy smile on the face of the person I had inadvertently pushed. “Supernatural, huh?”, I was asked. I winked. I knew I had met a future friend, who now happens to be my BFF. Now if you don’t know this quote from the wildly successful T.V series about two demon hunting brothers, we will perhaps never be best friends.

I am all nostalgic right now, because of the impending separation that college means. All my school friends are going their separate ways. Some, like my best friend, are even going abroad. At this moment, we swear to not go out of touch, but we all know that a Facebook birthday post is all that may connect us in the time to come. I hope it never comes to that though.

However, I know starting college is possibly the greatest way to make new friends, full on ‘3 Idiots’ style. I am looking forward to meeting new people to share my quotes and create memories with. I am already half-way there, my fellow CJ's have become good friends of mine. I hope to find many more.
