The F.R.I.E.N.D in you

If I hear someone whining about clichés, my automatic and uninhibited response is-‘Clichés are there because they are true’.

I can give you a ‘solid’ example. Think about your friends in school. Chances are that they fall under a set of clearly cut out categories that have been immortalized on screen by the hugely popular sitcom-‘Friends’.

All of us have watched the show and lived through the ups and downs in the lives of the characters.  Little do we realize how close we are to these characters in real life.

So go through this list and smile to yourself as you picture one of your friends against each description.

(As I wrote this blog, it occured to me that I can even categorize my fellow CJs in the list. This will give you a closer look at our persona)

The Comeback kid a.k.a Chandler Bing (a.k.a Yusra Hasan)- This guy is always ready with a witty and slightly sarcastic remark to everything. Like EVERYTHING. We love him for his ability to diffuse even the most tense of situations with a clever statement.

The Quirky Chick a.k.a Phoebe Buffay (a.k.a Parnika Singhal)- With strange beliefs and even stranger fetishes, this friend often makes you question your own sanity. She cries when she sees you cry, making you stop your tears and comfort her instead. One way or another, she does not let you remain sad for long.

The Goofy Charmer a.k.a Joey Tribbiani (a.k.a Rishabh Suri)- His trademark ‘How you doin?’, makes him garner much appreciation from the right quarters. His goofy persona is lovable to the hilt. Mathematics may not be his strong point, but in every other field, he rocks it!

The O.C.D Dude a.k.a Monica Geller (a.k.a Apoorv Gupta)- Her obsessive need to be in a clean room drives you nuts. And you hope that they come to your house and clean up (the mess you call) your room for you. She is understanding and helps you sort through the literal and figurative mess in your life.

The Smarty Pants a.k.a Ross Geller (a.k.a Neeraj V Murali)- He will top score every exam and still crib about losing half a mark in answer no.9. He is geeky and goofy all at once. His shy demeanor gives way to a ‘cool’ dude once you get to know him.

The OMG Gal a.k.a Rachael Green (a.k.a Mee :P ) - She will start hyper-ventilating at the slightest provocation. She may come across as high headed initially, but when you get to know her she is warm and sweet. She is has grown immensely as a person since when you first got to know her. And now she is your bestie. :P
