Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) by National Board of Examinations (NBE)

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will conduct Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) on 29th September, 2013.

The FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced by the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.”
NBE is the authority prescribed for conducting the test.

The screening test is held twice a year at New Delhi on last Sunday of March and September.

Exam Pattern

The test is conducted in English language.

The test consists of one paper.

There are 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) of single response type in the paper.

There is NO negative marking.

An applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he/she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination.

Availability of forms online: 27th May, 2013 onwards

Availability of forms at selected branches of Indian Bank: 3rd June, 2013 onwards

Last date to submit application forms: 30th June, 2013

Last date to submit application forms with late fee: 12th July, 2013

FMGE 2013 admit cards to be dispatched from: Last week of August, 2013

Date of examination: 29th September, 2013, 10.30 a.m.
