Farewell is indeed a grand occasion!

I have often wondered what school farewells do hold for the leaving students; having sent off many students; seeing them receiving gifts have made me envious and curious; wondering what was the whole excitement around “Farewell” about!

The mystery was solved when I myself attended the farewell – my farewell as I would like to say; it occurred in February. Quite late to post this, right? But it has been an amazing experience and I wish to share it with you; though, late, of course it is.

A fortnight before the farewell, the juniors began the preparations. When we were sweating it out, poring over our books again and again, preparing for the boards, they enjoyed themselves preparing speeches, deciding about the decorations, etc.

Just moving over the description of the preparations quickly, I must say the juniors did work hard. The day of the Farewell arrived. It was a nostalgic moment, as we all proceeded towards the stage to be applauded and greeted by the whole school.

The teachers, as usual, spoke about the importance of the Boards and how we should be preparing ourselves for the outside world. It was quite enlightening; their fun filled talks along with some memorable anecdotes made our day. Of course the photoshoot was the “Wow” moment; I believe we clicked out every picture possible with everyone present.

The various performances showcased how hard the juniors had worked; including a small card with Best Wishes for each one of us.

 I forgot to mention, as the previous Head Boy, I spoke after the teachers to the whole school! It was an honour, indeed!

Though quite simple and short, I believe this is etched in my mind forever; a pleasant memory.
