Two Faculty members of Department of Environmental Science, Dev Sanskriti University, Gayatrikunj-Shantikunj, Haridwar, namely Dr. Vijay Sharma and Dr. Sushil Bhadula got the heavenly opportunity to participate in 10 days training program on Revitalization of Waterways at Kazimierz Wielky University, Poland.
Both the members were inculcated with advanced techniques in the field of Hydrobiology, Environmental Science and Geoscience.
Both Faculty Members were trained This training was organized by Institute of Geography, Kazimierz Wielky University, Poland during 10th July to 20th July 2014. Both were represented India among the various eminent scientists from round the globe, participated in this valuable training program.
Scientists surveyed three major rivers of Poland namely Vistula, Brda and Warta to utilize hydrobiological analysis for the water of all these three rivers. Scientists and Professors of Kazimierz Wielki University provided all the advance techniques related to revitalization of Rivers. Prof. Babinski, who has a great contribution in the field of River Revitalization, gave valuable knowledge about the Hydro-biological processes in Riverine Ecosystem and also suggested a proper strategy to revitalization of Rivers. The Training co-ordinator and Head, Department of Revitalization of Inland waterways, Dr. Micheal Habel, manifested all advanced techniques like SONAR, SONDE, Soil and Water Analysis Kit and other equipments of Hydro-biological analysis.
In India, Revitalization of Rivers may also be a pivotal tool for the management of Water budget for the next generations. During last few decades, the pollution level of Ganga River escalating rapidly that may leads to a serious health as well as environmental problems. Our Hon’ble Prime minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is also serious about this matter. Department of Environmental Science is working on the Hydrobiology of River Ganga and its tributaries. Department has also actively participated in Nirmal Ganga Abhiyan of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Shantikunj.
The outcomes of this training will also be helpful in Ganga River Pollution Abatement. With the help of these advanced Techniques, we can also save other rivers of India, which are socio-economically important for India.
