Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Gas−Liquid by Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi

Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, conducted “Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Gas−Liquid and Gas−Liquid−Liquid Flows in Microchannels” on August 7, 2015 at Department Seminar Hall of the Institute, headed by Ph. D defense Mr. V. M. Rajesh.

The seminar intended to make aware the students about the need of cost competitive, energy efficient and environmentally non-threatening processes began with the introduction of micro-structured reactors and process tools. The presented thesis was based on Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Gas−Liquid and Gas−Liquid−Liquid Flows in Microchannels. Experiments were carried out to prove and investigate the effect of flow of liquids and gases. Along with these experiments, numerical calculations and simulations were also carried out.

This was the first time that, 3D VOF (Three dimensional volume of fluid) were performed to rouse the gas-liquid-liquid flows in a T−junction microchannels.
