DUSU Election Scheduled for September 13, 2013

The schedule for Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) election for 2013-14 has been announced by the varsity.

According to a notification released by Delhi University, elections will be conducted on September 13, 2013 (Friday).

September 4, 2013 has been declared as the last date for receipt of nomination papers. On the same day, the list of shortlisted candidates will also be published after scrutiny.

For withdrawal of nominations, the last has been announced as September 6, 2013. The final list of candidates will be published later on the same day.

According to the notification, the date, time and venue for counting of votes and declaration of results will be declared later.

Candidates are required to submit the nomination papers at the office of the CEO (Chief Election Officer) at the conference centre.

A few days ago, Delhi University authorities announced the names of officials responsible for holding this year’s elections.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, in his capacity as patron of DUSU appointed Prof. Ashok Vohra from the Department of Philosophy as Chief Election Officer, Prof. D S Rawat from the Department of Chemistry as the chief returning officer and Dr. Satish Kumar, deputy dean, university information centre, as returning officer for the conduct of election of the office bearers and members of the Central Council of DUSU for the year 2013-14.

DUSU is the representative body of the students from most colleges and faculties.
