DU open days prove to be resourceful for both students and parents

Delhi University kicked off its open days yesterday, May 21^st’2014. The sessions under the open days aim at providing all the necessary information regarding the university’s admission processes and criterion.

The sessions are to be held for nine days, starting Wednesday, during which the DU authorities are looking at solving the queries of the students who are seeking admission in the UG programs under DU.

One of the student’s mothers spoke to the Campus Calling reporter and said that such sessions are very helpful for parents who have queries which are not answered in through the website or other sources in detail.

“I was very skeptical about the four year graduation program but, I was explained that it is a better option considering the chances in foreign institutes for further studies,” as told to our reporter by Simran, a student seeking admission in the B.A. Honours Program in DU.

The various doubts regarding the inclusion of vocational subjects in the best of four percentage were also addressed and resolved during these sessions. As per the announcements made earlier this month, the students will be able to include their vocational subjects and electives in the percentage of best of four which is likely to increase their chances of admissions in the university.

The students looking for admissions under the sports quota were suggested to also fill the OMR (optical marks registration) forms, to help them have a chance at getting through, just in case they don’t make it through the quota.

The open days commenced on Wednesday and will continue till Friday, 30^th May’14. The sessions will be conducted at the Conference Centre, North Campus on all days, except on May 23^rd and 24^th, when, it will be at the SP Jain centre, South Campus.
