The DU Cut Offs hullabaloo !

Apprehensive about the cut offs to be announced soon? Feeling worried whether you will bag your place in an institution, prestigious or otherwise?

Don’t fear, you are one among a million who does feel so.

This is what is gnawing the minds of students from all over India. Having written every entrance exam possible, trying out the various alternatives, hundreds and thousands of students arrive at this phase, on their toes every second. They have their own expectations and aspirations; for them every day passes like years. But not everyone is worried. Some look forward to studying abroad and aren’t bothered about when and how the cut offs are released. Some, having bagged their places in IIT’s or Business Schools are quite relaxed.

This situation almost ends when the first cut off is released. The first cut off released almost decides the fate of every student; their expectations either fulfilled or dashed to the ground, broken into smithereens. You get to know what to expect further, you decide what your next step is.

But is this apprehension justified? I would say, yes.  Taking the example of this year, there would be lakhs of students fighting for thousands of seats. So, cut offs would be an indicator of how close you are to bagging a seat.

Now to the familiar situation that occurs as soon as the first cut off is released. Ruckus, chaos and speculation? Yep! Everyone, whether knowledgeable or not, beings to predict what the next four cut offs would be, keeping the students on their toes. But they are usually correct to the points.
