To ensure a smooth, fair and transparent admission process, the University of Delhi has asked the students and parents to not to fall prey to fake admission touts who pose as University Agents and tend to misguide the parents and students by assuring them of a seat. The University has updated its admission system in such a way that there is no scope for any wrongdoing. The entire procedure is to be followed online.
This alert comes at a time when the admissions are going to get underway in a few days time. Last year, several cases of fraud were reported to the University authorities. The touts charge anything between Rs. 50,000 to 2 lakh.
The University has employed several volunteers at the colleges and has asked the parents to report any wrongdoing to these volunteers.
Admissions open on 2nd June 2014.
