DU colleges to upload new students' details immediately after admission

All the colleges under Delhi University (DU) are likely to update the details of the candidates, immediately after their admission for the session 2014-15. To bring more transparency in the admission process and to clear all the doubts of the students, DU recommends all colleges to forward the appropriate data of the new candidates to the university, within a week of the admission.

As per the Dean of the Student’s Welfare (DSW) and Media Coordinator, Malay Neerav, the colleges must update all the admission data regularly, during the admission procedure. After the completion of the admission process, all the compiled data needs to be submitted to the university. Self-regulatory grievance committees will be setup in every college to check any discrepancy in the admission data and it will be visible in the public domain.

The decision on whether the data will be uploaded daily or at the end of the admissions after each cut-off list is yet to be taken. The DU authorities and the college principals will decide the frequency at which the data will be uploaded and what all details will be made available in the public domain.

According to a senior official at the DSW office, in order to check the discrepancies in the admission process, the colleges have to provide the maximum possible academic as well as admission related data on their websites. This would include: the names of candidates who were admitted, their cut-offs, categories, etc. which will be open for the public. From this year onward, DU has made several changes in its admission procedure to make it simple and convenient for the students.
