DU College of the Day - Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies

History: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS) is a constituent college of the Delhi University situated in Vivek Vihar, Delhi. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) established it as the ‘College of Business Studies’ in the year 1987.

Courses: The College offers courses in Management and Computer Science at the Under Graduate level. Its courses are always the most sought after among the students. The admission is done on the basis of class XII marks for the Computer Science course while for the management courses, students have to write an entrance exam.

The College is known to transmit the quality of leadership, innovation and team spirit among its students. The life at CBS is considered to be a hectic one because one has to be always on his toes. There are guest lectures, live projects, internships and exams that are meant to keep the students occupied all the time.

Extra Co-curriculars: Numerous societies are there to complement the academic learning. Some of them are: Illuminati- the quizzing society, Dhwani- the music society and CDC- the placement society. The ‘Crescendo’ is the annual cultural festival that includes events such as DJ Night, Ad-Making, Debating competition, music concert and corporate quiz.

Alumni: The College has produced some of the brightest minds in the business arena. Few of them are Vineet Madhusudan (International Program Manager, Microsoft), Priti Kataria (HR Head, Wipro Infotech), Sandeep Batra (Vice-President, Citibank) and many more.
