DU ADMISSIONS 2014: A TOUGH OPENING DAY FOR ASPIRANTS

The opening day of the admission process at the University of Delhi, turned out to be a nightmare for its aspirants. The varsity witnessed a massive crowd and protests on the opening day of admissions in its UG programs. Moreover, the website to be guiding the students in the admission process, also crashed.

Forms are available for the download on the website round the clock whereas, they are also available at the counters from 9am to 1pm. With the crashing of the DU’s official site, the counters witnessed massive crowd as it could not be managed by the authorities.

North Campus witnessed more trouble than the South Campus.

Colleges such as Daulat Ram and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur (SGTB) saw a huge number of admission seekers at their campus. There was much chaos and due to this, the distribution of forms was also stopped at the Daulat Ram College after its staff was alleged for selling forms on the gate, rather than, at the counters. But, the distribution resumed a while after the chaos was eased to some extent.

Some Students also protested against the FYUP of the varsity.

Overall, the first day was a tough day for applicants but the question is whether the situation will improve in the coming days or not.

The form costs Rs. 100/- while the reserved categories need to pay only Rs. 50/-
