DU Admission 2016: Three More Cut Off Lists to Fill 6500 Seats

It’s been more than a month DU’s new academic session has started but the admission process hasn’t ended as yet. There are more than 6500 seats still lying vacant in the colleges across DU for several undergraduate courses. Hence, those who have dreams to take admission in any of the colleges under DU can have another shot.

Contrary to the earlier notification whereby DU was to release 5 cut off lists this year after the admission process went completely online, the admission process has continued longer than anticipated. However, keeping in mind the fact that 6500 seats are still vacant in various streams in colleges under DU, the university is to release three more cut off lists on August 22, August 24 and August 29, 2022. Admission under each cut off list will end on August 24, August 26 and August 30 respectively

Out of total 6500 seats laying vacant in DU colleges, around 1100 are still open for the general category, 2900 for OBC category, 1000 for SC and 1500 in ST category. Considering the huge amount of seats still lying vacant, DU’s announcement of releasing three new cut off lists is the clear indication that the entire DU admission process is simply impossible to curb in five cut off lists.

Some of the prestigious colleges that include Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, Gargi, Ram Lal Anand and Dyal Singh have seats vacant in B.Com and B.Com (Hons) courses. Kalindi College, Janaki Devi Memorial College and Dyal Singh College have seats vacant in English (Hons). Similarly, Janaki Devi Memorial College and Dyal Singh College have 17 seats vacant each for Math (Hons) as well as 12 seats in Keshav Mahavidyalaya.

Earlier, the admission under the fifth cut off list ended on July 22, 2022. To fill the seats lying vacant in various colleges of DU, registered students applied again as colleges brought out another merit list. Admission under the merit lists ended on August 16, 2022. The document verification and approval in the admission process are to be done until 1PM for the morning colleges and 4 PM for Evening Colleges.
