Dressing up for the FIRST DAY OF COLLEGE!

First day of college.Yeah,finally!With the announcement that all colleges under DU would be opening from July 21,all the freshers’(fuchhas’)excitement knows no bounds.And with the initial nervousness,comes a much greater nail-biting decision-WHAT TO WEAR ON THE FIRST DAY?

Some people would tell you to “Dress expensive.”,while some would tell you to play it low,lest you get noticed and caught by the seniors.

“Kamla Nagar best hai..” “Nahi yaar..latest fashion toh Janpath pe hain..”

“Yaar..samajh nahi aa raha yellow t-shirt pehnun,ya phir white shirt..”

Hypnotised in the race of vogue, people lose the basic sense of what to wear and what not. It is very difficult to find a white sheep in a herd of black sheeps specially when one has burdened themselves with a heap of expectations. Freshers create a very exalted image before joining any college in Delhi University. Wrapped in ostentatious glittery paper they gift themselves a brand new unpolished wardrobe with broken wooden board. From hot pants to sky high skirts, backless to tube tops complimented with the matching accessories including a range of shiny bangles, neck pieces, danglers and armlets, each and every thing finds its way to the new wardrobe. The new entrants come in a plethora of colours altogether, gleaming the eyes of its beholder.

Here’s what I feel should be your motto for the first day--Meet new people,make new friends,and don’t try to dress for others…wear what you feel comfortable in…YOU DON’T WAKE UP EVERYDAY TO IMPRESS OTHERS!
