Dhwani - The Rhythm of Action by students of Shri Ram Centre

Dhwani, the dramatics society came into existence in the year 2011 by staging a production "Sau Mein Laga Dhaga" by the college students at Shri Ram Centre which was a grand success. It was the first play of the society but yet it was highly appreciated by one and all.

It's prestige further got uplifted when the society hosted another production "Ye Daagh, Daagh Ujaala" on February 3, 2012 at the Shri Ram Centre. The play tried to portray the extent to which our society has degenerated and has moved away from what our freedom struggle stood for and the values that it epitomized. The play was a huge hit. It was also appreciated by the Honourable Minister of Woman and Child Welfare in the Government of N.C.T. of Delhi, Professor Kiran Walia who was also the guest of honour for the show. The production was widely covered by media and various newspapers.

This year on January 29th, the society exhibited a new-age version of the very famous story "Khul Ja Sim Sim" an extract from the all-time favourite fable Arabian Nights. at the Sri Ram Centre. The play demonstrates how greed of an individual leads to total havoc in a close happy family. The modern day adaptation of play displays the hideous scenario of our society where the never ending desires fantasies, race to reach top, earn money, has over powered people's mind, their conscience. The only silver-lining akin to Alibaba's character in the play, is the educated and enlightened youth of India, who have the will and means of defining the country's future. Professor Malashri Lal, Dean, Academic Activities and Projects, University of Delhi was the Chief Guest for the inaugural show of the production on January 29, 2013.
