DAY 2 at Kirori Mal College

I went to KMC for the 2^nd time.However,this time it was not for submitting forms.It was to confirm my seat in this esteemed college.

Waking up quite cheerful in the morning,I was fully confident that I finally had a college to go to.Bustling with happiness,I picked up the day’s newspaper,and the headlines ?--

                  “DAY 2 OF ADMISSIONS SEES HEAVY RUSH,TOP COLLEGES CLOSE ADMISSIONS”.

I hurriedly went through the article,which stated that almost all North Campus colleges had closed admissions,with English,political science and History drawing the most applications.Worried,I got ready and left for KMC at 9:30 a.m.

Upon reaching,all I could see was a number of students.Lots and lots of them.Everywhere I could see.(see pic)

I finally caught hold of a student,and asked what was happening.He looked at me with surprise,and said-“Abhi toh list lagne waali hai.”

“List matlab?”,I asked again.

“Arre...kaun-kaunse students select ho gaye hain,unki final list lagegi abhi.”He answered and left.

Tensed hona toh banta tha!

The people at the office told us that the list would be out at 10:30 a.m.Therefore,all we,i.e.me and my fellow CJ Neeraj(who also happened to be taking admission at the same college) could do was-- wait.

Time flew fast.It was 10:30 in what seemed like a few minutes.

No list.

Everyone started getting impatient.Soon,it was 11:00 a.m.

No list.

At 11:15 a.m.,a person from the office came out with a paper.Wherever he went,a crowd of about 100 students followed him.He pasted the list on the notice board.News spread: LIST AA GAYI.

Parents and students literally pushed each other to have a look at the paper which decided their fate.It took me about 10 minutes to confirm that it was the same RISHABH SURI on the list.CJ Neeraj too got through.Relaxed,rather than happy,we proceeded towards the office to deposit the fees,which was an adventure in itself……Read about it in the next blog!

P.S.-I haven’t forgotten that I had promised to tell you about the best places to eat at the North Campus!Will do it in the next blog…pakka!
