Internationally renowned Dance Gurukul MAHAGAMI was graced with the visit of a Chinese Delegation led by Secretary General of China Public Diplomacy Association, Mr. Song Rong Hua on March 30, 2015.
On their arrival a grand traditional welcome was given to the delegates with offering of flowers and tying the ceremonial turban. The Chinese Delegation with 25 members experienced the rich culture of MAHAGAMI by their artist performing famous Kathak, showing the historical aspects and legends of Aurangabad Heritage.
The Chinese Cultural Delegation was mesmerized to see the demonstrations of different movements, expressions and rhythmic patterns by Senior disciples of Parwati Dutta (Director, MAHAGAMI) – Kannagi Gosavi, Sheetal Bhamre, Jijao Kolte, Shreeya Dikshit, Snehal Kathare and Rasika Talekar.
Parwati Dutta gave a lucid description and explanation on various aspects of Indian Dance to give a deeper understanding to the delegates. Towards the end, Mr. Song Rong Hua thanked the artists and Ms. Parwati Dutta for giving an in-depth exposure to Indian Dance traditions.
Municipal Commissioner Shri. Prakash Mahajan thanked MAHAGAMI team for hosting an enlightening program for the delegates who left the Gurukul with many words of praise for MAHAGAMI, its system of arts - education and the performance. Ms. Dutta was given a Chinese painting which had auspicious motifs and also hopped to tie a bond between the two countries through their cultures.
