Creating Managerial Talent for Infra Sector

Currently, there is a large gap between the demand and availability of trained managerial resources with adequate knowledge and specialization in infrastructure management and the gap will widen significantly in future. According to a joint report by Project Management Institute (PMI) and global consultants KPMG, there will be a shortage of 3 million infrastructure professionals and experts by 2022.

With a view to bridge this talent crunch, Adani Group established the Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (AIIM) in 2009. Adani Group, one of the India’s Top 10 business groups by market capitalization, is a leading player in global infrastructure space with resources, logistics and energy as key business verticals. Adani Group generated robust revenues of $8 Billion in the economically challenging year of 2013.

The main objective of AIIM is to provide high quality education and training to bright and aspirational executives for shouldering managerial responsibilities in Infrastructure and Allied Sectors.

PGPIM

• AIIM offers a unique One Year Residential Post Graduate Programme in Infrastructure Management (PGPIM) launched under the leadership of Dr. Bakul Dholakia (former Director, IIM, Ahmedabad).
• PGPIM aims at preparing business leaders and professionals who are well equipped to face the challenges of managing the fast growing Infrastructure & Allied Sectors in leading economies.
• PGPIM involves intensive academic work through a carefully designed intensive course package that includes core as well as elective courses, comprehensive project and domestic study visit of infrastructure projects.
• PGPIM is a rigorous programme involving 800 sessions of 75 minutes each spread over the programme duration of 50 weeks.
• The curriculum includes:

1. 22 core courses in General Management,
2. 17 core courses in Infrastructure Management and
3. 7 Elective courses out of 16 electives offered.

• AIIM believes in maintaining a healthy student-teacher ratio. AIIM has 7 full time faculty members along with 35 visiting and 20 guest faculty members.

Courses offered in PGPIM employ a mix of pedagogical methods including:

• Field Visits

Special emphasis is laid on the Case Method as a dominant mode of instruction. Throughout the programme, students work on joint project and group assignments to develop team working capabilities. During the academic year students go through more than 40 group projects and assignments. Workshops and guest lectures delivered by senior management from leading infra companies and industry experts equip students with best practices of the industry.

Placement
AIIM has extensive linkages with the industry which aids students to get excellent lateral placements. Our recruiters include, besides Adani Group companies, Arvind, Dodsal, BNP PARIBAS, IL&FS, IRB Infra, L&T, PwC, SBI Capital Markets, Shell, Tata power and others.

Infrastructure
AIIM campus is equipped with state of the art academic, residential and outdoor facilities.
The academic space includes classrooms, conference rooms and library. AIIM campus also includes an auditorium, gymnasium and playground.
