Convocation organised by NMIMS

 

 

 

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, organized its convocations for the year 2015 recently wherein about 600 students were awarded MBA degree and 2 with PH.D in Management. Shri Suresh Prabhu, the Union Railway minister, was the Chief Guest of the function. 

 

 

The Chancellor of the University, Mr. Amrish Patel, presided over the convocation. Shri Prabhu while addressing to the students congratulated them and said that it was a great achievement for them to get a degree from NMIMS. He said that he believes a single man can change the world but he should have courage, perseverance and commitment to challenge the reality and change the world, and this event in the life of the students would certainly help them in the change. Shri Suresh Prabhu also mentioned about India’s growth and how proper management can become a key role in attaining this. He said that the difference in the potential of growth and the real growth is due to lack of proper management. India needs to manage properly its physical, financial and human resources and since the population size is huge, a large numbers of good managers are required. In his concluding note, he said that the responsibility to manage the society and the resources is of those who have the ability to understand and capacity to make change and would surely want to meet each of the graduating student after a span of 20 years to know how they contributed to bring the change.

 

 

Dr. Rajan Saxena, the Vice Chancellor of the NMIMS University also congratulated the students and their families and said that after MBA, for most management graduates, life is going to enter into a new phase where lessons would be different. He urged the students to remain responsible and sensitive to the society and environment and exhibit integrity, respect, diversity and develop a tolerant worldview. He also mentioned the significance of GMAC taking over the NMAT, the NMIMS Management entrance test and recommendation of NMIMS Bengaluru for AMBA accreditation.
