“Communication with Authors”: Guest session at Chandigarh University

Eminent Authors and members of ‘Chandigarh Literary Club’—Ms Saguna Jain, Mr Hardeep Chandpuri and Mr C.J. Singh marked their presence at Chandigarh University during a session called “Communication with Authors” on August 28, 2014.

 

 

This programme was conducted by Reflections Club of University School of Business (USB).

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. C.J. Singh, MD of Core Communications coordinated the talks and interacted with the students. Mr Chandpuri, founder of Ferntree Publishing, spoke about many aspects of writing from the point of view of a publisher. Ms Jain, a columnist with assorted experience of writing, teaching and consulting, talked about various kinds of writing, like content writing, reporting and creative writing. She also stated that an idea originates from knowledge of a particular field. She supported this by giving an example that if you are an MBA student, you would do wonders if you write about Management.

 

 

 

Mr Charandeep Singh, an officer in ICICI bank, marked his presence an inspiration for the audience that people busy in different occupations without anything to do with writing or literature can become good authors.

The students were made to realize that ‘in everyone there is a book and in everyone there is a writer’. The program was well received by the audience and was an eye-opener to many that hidden talent of writing can be sharpened with proper training and skill development. Students were overwhelmed with the insights given by the speakers.
