The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will conduct the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) 2014 also known as CA CPT 2014 on June 22, 2014 in two sessions. CPT exam is held twice in a year for admission to ICAI in the integrated professional competence course, which is the entry level to become a Chartered Accountant.
The 4 subjects on which CPT exam will be based include:
• Fundamentals of Accounting
• Mercantile Laws
• General Economics and
• Quantitative Aptitude
Eligibility criteria for CPT exam 2014
• Students can register after Class X board exams, but will be eligible to appear for the exam once they complete 10 + 2
• CPT registration is valid for 3 years, after which, a student can opt for re validation

Note – Only students who have registered with ICAI for the common proficiency course on r before April 1 and meet the eligibility criteria are eligible for the 2014 CPT exam on June 22.
Exam Pattern for CPT 2014
- Total marks: 200
- Multiple choice questions (MCQ)
- Negative marking will be given – 25% marks for every incorrect answer
- To qualify a CPT exam, the candidate must obtain 30% marks minimum in each subject
