Committee to investigate TY B.Com paper leak in Mumbai

Two weeks after a paper was leaked during the third-year TY B.Com examinations, the varsity, on Wednesday, formed a highpowered committee to look into the infrastructure and human resources of a Vikhroli college, which was a centre for the exam concerned.

The decision was made on the basis of the recommendations of a two-member panel inspecting city exam centres after the HRM paper was leaked.
"The high- powered committee has been constituted to inquire into the infrastructure and human resources of the college under Article 81 of the Maharashtra Universities Act 1994. The college did not respond to the text messages and calls of the examination section after the paper leak on April 4 and gave students the leaked question paper," said Leeladhar Bansod, public relations officer, Mumbai University.

The high-powered panel comprises three principals, including academic council member Madhu Nair.

According to the findings of the varsity committee on the paper leak, the exam centre did not have adequate staff to hold examinations. "We found that the principalin-charge of the examinations was of the junior college associated with the institution. The exam centre had deployed invigilators, IT coordinators and supervisors from the junior college and was inadequately staffed, so we recommended a probe," said Vijay Joshi, a member of the committee on the HRM paper leak.
