The Chortling Metro Ride

Today being one of the CJ Meetings, I returned back, tired, drenched in sweat, humidity being on a new high but happy. Happy? Nah, satisfied! This exultant mood was further improved by what I saw and experienced on the Metro on my way back. (I didn’t do anything wrong, if you’re thinking that way!). Not that these incidents were funny, but they made me chortle and they might make you laugh too!

Chaotic Exit Gates: Usually the exit gates are quite busy with a huge crowd trying to get out at the same time impatiently. Today, the case was a bit different. There was a crowd at the gate, a man trying to place his card on the machine, another one standing just opposite him, at the other end of the gates shouting out some advice to him. How the gates will open when someone blocks the sensors with his body, I can't imagine!  Really! The crowd gathered there just look on, no one trying to ask the opposite man to move off. No one!

And to the next incident!

Wait! I didn’t divulge what I did, right? I turned back, went to the other side of the station and used the exit gate!

The So Called Knowledgeable Talk:

It is irritating when someone says something without being properly aware. It really is frustrating and this infuriates me much. One dear cousin called me up and began to rant on about the heavy competition in Delhi University. Though tired, I did bear with him for the sake of it. I hardly heard what he was saying except murmur a “Umm” in well rehearsed intervals! Suddenly, I heard him say that there were atleast 25 cutoffs in DU. I began to laugh and corrected him saying that he was mistaken. But he stood his ground and refused to budge on his statement though I offered to send him news articles related to DU. 25! I ask you, is it ever possible?

This is why I hate uninformed individuals calling me up! I just ended the call, shaking my head!

Don’t know why, but this seems to be funny, I am chortling as I go home!
