Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat is organising a Characterisation and Modelling of Particulate Materials at the Conference Room, Guest House-SVNIT. The TEQIP-II sponsored STTP on Particle Technology has begun from August 1, 2022, and will continue until August 5, 2022.
Particle Technology is the science and technology related to the handling and processing of particles, powders. Particle technology includes solid particles as well as liquid droplets, emulsions and bubbles. STTP will address both the fundamental aspects and advances in particulate materials characterization as well as modelling of particulate processes with advanced simulation tools like DEM (Discrete Element Method) and population balance modelling. The emphasis is to provide training on the use of varieties of tools to analyse particles properties with a live demonstration and hands-on training sessions with different types of computation tools.
Course Objectives:
- To develop the understanding of fundamentals of particles processing technology
- To identify problems associated with characterisation, processing and storage of bulk materials
- To predict behaviour of particulate materials based on the influence of process variables
- To apply advanced particle characterisation tools
- To model flow, storage and handling of powder by DEM Simulation and population balance modelling
Registration Fees:
Faculty members from SVNIT are exempted from fee. The registration fee for the programme shall be Rs. 750 for research students, Rs. 1500 for faculty from academic institution and Rs. 3000 for industry personnel and practising engineers. Registration fee includes registration kit, course material and working lunch. Accommodation in institute hostel guest house shall be provided to participants upon prior request on payment basis. The participants have to bear their own travelling expenses. Research scholars have to attach bonafide certificate or photocopy of their valid identity card along with registration form. The non- refundable registration fees should be sent in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of “Director, SVNIT” payable at Surat.
