CBSE not conducting UGC NET 2015?

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) National Eligibility Test (NET) 2015 is a National Eligibility Test (NET) for recruitment to the posts of Junior Research Fellow and Lectureship at government organisations. On behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the NET exam in December 2014 in a hassle free manner. CBSE was given the responsibility because of its meticulous process and accuracy. 

 

But conducting the CSIR NET 2015 looks like a rare possibility because of lack of bandwidth as stated by CBSE. As flippant as it may sound, CBSE states the exit of its ex-Chairman Mr. Vineet Joshi in November 2014 as one of the primary reasons for not conducting the CSIR NET 2015. Apparently, CBSE has lost the confidence to conduct a national level exam of this stature because Mr. Joshi is no longer a part of CBSE. 

 

This coming from a reputed institution like CBSE is shocking and reflective of the state of affairs! CBSE has the responsibility to:

• Conduct Board Examinations for Classes 10th and 12th in its associate schools 
• Conduct Pre-Medical entrance exam
• Conduct Joint Engineering Entrance (Main) 
• Conduct Central Teacher's Eligibility test
• Conduct Entrance test for admission for NITs and IITs
• Conduct all-India test for admission into medical colleges 
• Publish results for Class XII and X exams
• Publish Results for JEE-Main

With such state of affairs, we are now unsure if the CSIR NET 2015 exam will be conducted at all or not.
