In a recent meeting, Central Board of Secondary Education has announced changes in the existing affiliation bye-laws. As per the most recent announcement from CBSE, it will start conducting a recruitment drive for teachers to be placed in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas.
The information about updating the affiliation byelaws and introducing other changes was provided by CBSE chairperson RK Chaturvedi at the sidelines of CBSE conference on 'Examination Reform for Inclusive Education’.
Details of CBSE changes in byelaw
As per the most recent reports available, CBSE is to update its byelaws to make schools more transparent and to bring them in line with legislations like Persons with Disabilities Act and Right to Education Act (RET). With RET, CBSE will allow differently-abled children to pursue mainstream education with no need for special schools and classrooms for differently-abled children.
As a common practice, schools use an inclusive model to cater to the needs of students with moderate to mild special needs. However, fully inclusive schools don’t separate general education and special education curriculum. Rather, inclusive schools structure curriculum in such a way that all students learn easily and effectively.
The change in CBSE byelaws is intended to make them more compatible with existing legislations. The government is also to bring in the new education policy in the coming days. The move is to make the curriculum and government policies fall on the similar lines.
