One of the most difficult entrance examinations in India, Common Admission Test (CAT) is a gateway for some of the most renowned government and private B-schools in India. The registration for the CAT 2022 exam ceased on September 27, 2022. The exam is to be conducted on December 4, 2022 and the result for the same is expected to be declared in the first week of January 2022.
Over the years, changes have been introduced to the CAT exam every now and then. From a paper-based exam in 2008 to computer-only exam now, overhauling the marks system and updates in the syllabus to major changes in the paper pattern in 2015, CAT exam has undergone considerable changes. Now, again, details about some changes being introduced have also been doing the rounds of the web and we would like CAT 2022 aspirants to know about them.
One of the major changes in the CAT 2022 exam this year is Noida has been added as a centre for the entrance examination. Noida was removed as an authorised entrance exam centre for CAT in 2014 and Greater Noida was included instead. This caused problems for Delhi NCR candidates who wanted to take Noida as a test centre.
Another big change introduced is in the application form where graduation level marks are entered. Earlier, candidates need to fill in the details of marks based on 10+2+3 pattern which created a problem for the candidates who have done their graduation in 1980s when two years pattern for graduation was valid. To solve this problem, the application form now asks candidates to fill in the year of commencement and completion of bachelor’s degree, whereas the marks can now be added based on the years taken to complete the graduation.
