CAT 2022 registrations have commenced from today, August 9, 2022. The candidates interested in taking Common Admission Test 2022 can now apply for the exam. The CAT application form 2022 is available only in online mode, on the official website of IIM CAT 2022. However, a link to apply for the exam has also been provided here below considering the ease of the applicants. CAT 2022 registration window will remain open for a time span of 43 days, which means the last date to submit the online CAT 2022 application form is September 20, 2022.
Last year, total of 2,32,434 candidates applied for the CAT exam and this number is expected to increase this year. Graduates interested in pursuing MBA, fellow or post graduate courses in management from Indian Institute of IIMs and other renowned B-schools of the country must appear for CAT 2022. It is a computer based test and is the only key that opens the gate of 20 IIMs. CAT 2022 exam date is November 26, 2022. Every year, one of the old IIMs is given the responsibility of conducting CAT and this year, IIM Lucknow has been delegated with that responsibility after a gap of 7 years.
Who can apply for CAT 2022?
- Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and in any discipline can take CAT.
- However, the degree should have been passed with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates of any age can apply for this exam.

CAT Registration 2022 – Key Points to be kept in mind
1. The applicants must complete the registration in single sitting of 30 minutes. In case, they will not be able to register during this prescribed time limit, they will have to login again.
2. They will not be able to edit any details in the CAT 2022 application form after making the payment of application fee.
3. The candidates who will make mistakes in entering registration details in the first step will have to register afresh with a new email ID.
4. They can save the data and complete filling the application form in steps.
5. “*” (asterisk) indicates a mandatory field. The boxes marked with this symbol must be filled in or you will not be allowed to submit your application for CAT 2022.

How to obtain and fill CAT Application Form 2022?
As mentioned above, the CAT 2022 registration can be processed in online mode only. The applicants will be required to fill a basic CAT registration form in order to obtain CAT 2022 login credentials.

Note - These details must be filled correctly as the candidates will not be able to make any changes in them later on.
On successful submission of this registration form, the candidates will be sent the CAT 2022 user id and password on their registered email id and mobile number. Using these credentials, the candidates must login as an ‘existing user’ and obtain the online CAT 2022 application form.

CAT Test Cities 2022
This year, the test will be held across 140 cities. In the CAT 2022 application form, the applicants will have to fill 4 test cities in order of their preference. The candidates will have to choose 4 exam cities from the drop down menu given in the form. The exam centre will be allotted to the candidates after the completion of CAT 2022 registration process by IIM Lucknow.
CAT 2022 Application Form Correction
The candidates will be given the opportunity to modify certain details in the submitted CAT application form 2022 like last year. This facility will be available for limited duration and as of now; the time limit and details on the same have not been announced.
- Details which cannot be modified – Details entered in the personal details section, academics section except the percentage marks scored, exam centre city preference.
- Details which can be modified – Percentage of marks scored, work experience, programmes selected.
CAT 2022 will have a duration of 180 minutes. According to the CAT exam pattern 2022, the candidates will be asked 100 objective type questions from 3 sections namely, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).
