The result of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), is expected to be announced on January 14, 2014.
As many as 1,94,516 aspirants appeared for the CAT exam at 76 test centres across 40 cities in the country.
In 2012, 1,91,642 candidates took the test.
CAT 2013 was conducted during a 20-day testing window between October 16, 2013 and November 11, 2013.
Candidates take CAT for admission to the IIMs and other leading B-schools across the country.
Admission Process
Each IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT 2013 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.
