Delhi National Capital Region (Delhi NCR) has seen the maximum number of registrations so far for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, according to data released by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
Bangalore has the second-highest number of registrations, followed by Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
The registration window for CAT 2013 closes on 26th September, 2013, reports a leading daily.
Common Admission Test, which is conducted for admission to the prestigious IIMs and other leading management institute of the country, will conducted over 20 days from 16th October, 2013 to 11th November, 2013.
Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Hyderabad testing centres will soon be closed for registration as they are closest to meeting their full capacity.
"Interest in getting an MBA continues to be high, and CAT registration follows that trend," said Prof. Rohit Kapoor, convenor, CAT 2013.
"Students see value in the return of investment of studying in IIMs. They see how placement salaries at IIMs compare favourably, not just in India, but even internationally, when considering tuition costs. Getting placed after graduation is never an issue," he added.
Soumitra Roy, General Manager, Prometric India, the agency which holds the test, said, "Students need a sense of urgency while preferred testing locations remain available.”
