Media Fest 2015, BONJOUR, the cultural endeavour of Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Guru Nanak Dev University, Jalandhar successfully completed this edition on February 26, 2015.
It was a well organized event where students from not only city but from other states also participated. The event started with lighting of lamps by the respected Transport Minister of Punjab, Ajit Singh Kohar. He praised the efforts of students of our college and also dictated beautiful inspiring incidents of his life. College Dean welcomed him with a token of warm gratitude.
Starting with the events, the first one was the Rap Competition where the students had to Rap with a time limit of 1.5-2 minutes. There were some beautiful performances. Some students rapped on major issues of rape, eve teasing and respect for women. There were two rounds of the competition.
Next was the RJ Hunt. Here RJ Garima from Radio Mantra was the Judge. Some participants were very spontaneous and performed really well.
Then, was the most awaited Dance competition. Vivek Aggrawal from the Dance Academy was the judge who has been in dance from last 20 years. It was a huge honour for the students of the college too. Beautiful performances were given by APJ College of Fine Arts, DAV University and Chitkara University, which in particular performed Rakht Charitar and backed the first position.
Many others events kept on taking place side by side at other spots.
Nukkad Natak was held in the library block. Paper reading and Aap ki Adalat was held inside the Law Block. Refreshments were also arranged for students.
Then the most awaited guests Dilpreet Dhillon and Kamal Khan of Ishq Sufiyana fame. They gave rocking performances and set the stage on fire. They were the last to perform after which the Prize Distribution took place.
It was a well organised event and well coordinated by the students of Journalism and Mass Communication.
