Yukti, the social service cell of ITM University, Gurgaon, in association with Rotary Club Gurgaon, organised a day long Blood Donation Camp in the University Campus on March 24, 2014.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Prem Vrat inaugurated the camp. There was great enthusiasm amongst the students and they started queuing up in large numbers, to register as a donor, right from the word go.
A lot of Faculty Members too were seen registering as donors. The lines grew longer as the day progressed. There was a continuous stream of student and faculty, right through the day.
The donors were put through a series of medical check-ups before donating blood and were given refreshments, a memento and a certificate of appreciation for this service to humanity after the donation.
A confidential blood test report and a DONOR’s card will also be provided to each donor by Rotary Blood Bank which is the country's largest and most modern blood bank with state-of-art technologies and service. At the end of the day, the total donors numbered 480, which is a record turnout.
Appreciating the effort Prof. Prem Vrat said, “I appreciate the efforts put in by Yukti, our Social Service Cell, in organising this event and am thankful to the Rotary Club Gurgaon for giving the University an opportunity to be part of such a noble cause. ITM University has always been at the forefront to deliver whenever there is a social cause.”
