BITS Pilani Ph.D Admissions (II Semester 2013-14)

Applications are invited for admission to BITS Pilani’s Ph.D. Programme offered at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses in the following disciplines:

Biological Sciences, Chemical Engg., Chemistry, Civil Engineering. Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy, Physics, Languages and Humanities and Interdisciplinary areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, Environment, Robotics; Nano-science & Nanotechnology, Water Management, etc.

The link to apply for admission to PhD programme for second semester 2013-14 is now open. The last date for submission of completed application form is 21st December 2013.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani is a leading Institute of Higher Education and a deemed University under section 3 of the UGC act that offers degree programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Pharmacy, Management and Humanities.

Eligibility Criteria

• M.E./M.Pharm/MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate
• Candidates with an M.Sc/B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may also be considered for Ph.D admission.
• For Ph.D Programme in Languages and Humanities, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered.
• Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS may sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D under Aspirants scheme

• Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online and take the printout of the filled form
• The completed application form along with the prescribed fee of Rs 1750/- should be sent to Admission Officer, BITS Pilani-333031

The last date to submit the completed application form is 21st December, 2013, 5.00 p.m.

Additional Information

• Short listed candidates will be required to come to Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad campuses for test and/or interview
• Assistantship/Scholarship: Applicants for admission to the Ph.D programme will also be considered for Project/Research Assistantships to the Rs 11,000/- to Rs 154,000/- p.m. or more in addition to tuition fee waiver of upto 80%
• Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor
