Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D Programme at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses in the following disciplines:  
Biological Sciences, Chemical Engg., Chemistry, Civil Engg., Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Electrical & Electronics Engg., Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engg., Pharmacy, Physics, Languages and Humanities and Interdisciplinary areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, Environment, Robotics; Nano-science & Nanotechnology, Water Management, Public Health etc.


Eligibility

M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate.Candidates with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate will also be considered for Ph.D. admission. For Ph.D Programme in Languages and Humanities, candidates with an M.A. and with minimum of 55% aggregate may also be considered.

Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS may sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D. under “Aspirants scheme”. Under this Scheme such Employed professionals working in Industries and R&D Organizations having long experience and proven competence aspiring for Ph.D. programme will be considered and will be allowed to pursue their research at their own locations of work. 

For the Ph.D.Programmes short listed candidates will be required to come to Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad campuses for test and/or interview.


Assistantship/Scholarship

Applicants for admission to the Ph.D. programme will also be considered for Project/Research Assistantships to the tune of Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 14000/- pm or more in addition to tuition fee waiver scheme.  Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor.

Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online here take the printout of the filled form.  The completed application form along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 1500/-  should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani – 333031.  Details of fee payment modes are available at the website while applying online.

Deadline for submission of the completed application form is 5.00 P.M. on 5th Dec 2011.
