BHU FMS Invites Application for Admission to MBA and MBA-IB 2013-14

About BHU FMS:

Situated in Varanasi, Banaras Hindu University was established in 1916. Today it comprises three institutes, 16 faculties and 140 departments offering education in various subjects of Humanities, Social Science, Science & Technology, Commerce, Management, Medicine, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The college has four centres for advanced studies and several departments assisted by UGC.
The Faculty of Management was established as a separate faculty in 1984 with Post Graduate and Doctoral programmes. The faculty has invites application for admission in MBA (46 seats) and MBA in International Business (IB) (46 seats).

Eligibility for admission in BHU FMS:

The admission to MBA and MBA-IB courses is done on the basis of rank acquired in CAT 2012. The basic eligibility criterion for applying is given below:

• Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 Pattern.
• Candidates with a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or Law.
• Candidates with post graduate degree in any field under the 10+2+3 pattern.
• Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided they submit all the documents by 5th October 2013.

The candidates need to have a minimum aggregate of 50% from any university/institution recognised by AIU/AICTE. The minimum aggregate for SC/ST candidates is 45%. 


Admission procedure for foreign nationals:

Foreign nationals are exempted from appearing for CAT, group discussion and interview. 15% of the available seats for MBA and MBA IB are reserved for foreign nationals. Interested candidates need to submit application forms in the office of Internationals Students Advisor, International Students Centre, BHU for their admission. The International Students Advisor issue an eligibility letter to the foreign national if found eligible after reviewing of his work.


Admission procedure for admission in BHU FMS:

• All the interested candidates are required to appear for CAT 2012 in order to apply for MBA or MBA-IB at BHU FMS.
• Selection will be done on the basis of combined merit acquired by a candidate in CAT 2012 (50% weightage), Academic Record (20% weightage) and Group Discussion (30% weightage).
• Candidates need to fill the BHU FMS application form which can be obtained from Faculty of Management Studies, BHU through crossed SBI Bank draft or cheque of Rs 1000. The application form is for Rs 650 for SC/ST candidates.
• Candidates can also obtain the application form through post by sending a requisition along with crossed SBI bank draft of Rs 1050 for general category and Rs 700 for SC/ST candidates and 32x26 cm self-addressed envelope.
• Students can also download the form online and can submit the form (after taking printout) along with a DD of Rs 1000 for general category and Rs 650 for SC/ST candidates.
• SC/ST candidates need to send the attested photocopy of their caste certificates.

The bank draft/Cheque should be drawn in favour of Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at SBI, BHU Main Branch (code 0211).

• Starting of sales forms: 6th August 2012
• Last date for receipt of requisition for sending the form through post: 5th November 2012
• Last date of sales of forms from counter: 26th November 2012
• Last date for receipt of completed forms: 27th November 2012
