BESC Kolkata Organizes Session on Family Business

Bhawanipur Education Society College, University of Calcutta, in association with Yi Yuva and AIFMB organized a session on ‘Family Business to Join or Not’ where the main expert speaker was Prof. Parimal Merchant, Director Global FMB, S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research.

In his address, Prof. Merchant focused on familiarizing the students with facts and figures about the present generations’ mentality and thinking which is the driving force behind the influence that an individual is bound by through advertisements.



He gave multiple examples highlighting the reasons of joining a family business as well as advocated for taking up job opportunities that come one’s way to enter into the corporate world and multinational companies. However, since the focus was on family business, he tried to take students’ attention in that direction primarily.

It was a learning experience for all the participating students.
