Awaken the Entrepreneur in You!

This quote is quite apt considering the mindset of the current generation where people of all ages somehow connect to the idea of entrepreneurship. Now, before moving to that we must clarify the meaning of entrepreneurship. Unlike, the primitive term ‘Businessman’, which is not only conservative but sort of sexist, entrepreneur is a more respected term worldwide.

My first reaction to it, as a B-School student, during a discussion with one of my professors was, that the term ‘entrepreneur’ is all the more glamorized today, than it actually is. What is it then? It is just a way to earn more money? Is it about being more ambitious? Or is it about a mindset that builds over time and experiences that have less to do with age.

In this series on entrepreneurship, we would endeavor to bring more clarity on it as a concept along with introducing you to many such young stories where people nurtured this attitude and turned their ideas into success stories.

But the question remains that if, everyone can be an entrepreneur then why are they not. One reason for that could be the necessary pre-requisites of being one, which are:
• Having an idea
• Execution of the idea

That’s where most of us get stuck. If we were to ask about 15 people sitting in a room, that if they had a unique idea, then chances are, that most would have at least one. Then, there would be rest, who could suggest ways to execute the idea in some way or the other. That is the usual case with most of us. We either have an idea or we can be instrumental in the execution of one. But, the rarity is to have both. That is the reason why most of the start-ups are started in partnerships.

Through this entrepreneurial series, we hope to share the stories of many such inspiring people who have been able to overcome these constraints and have moved on to become entrepreneurs in their own right. It has not been long that they have been inspired too! So, we hope to spread a word about their journey of struggles and successes to tickle some of your own ideas put at slumber.
