Aura-Aurangabad Dance Concerts were organized at Mahagami Gurukul, Aurangabad. Aura-Aurangabad is dance series, which began on October 31, 2015.
Aura-aurangabad was conceptualised by Parwati Dutta (Director, MAHAGAMI GURUKUL) and launched by MAHAGAMI GURUKUL in the year 2013. The dance series aimed to showcase legends and legacies of Aurangabad Heritage through Indian Dance Heritage. In the last two tourist seasons 2013-14, 2014-15 ; total 51 concerts offering World-class Indian Dance were successfully held that catered to the cultural quest of tourists and guests visiting the city.
Schedule of the concert was as follows:
- 2nd concert on 5 Nov - Parimal Phadke group, Pune (Bharatanatyam)
- 3rd concert on 6 Nov - MAHAGAMI Group, Aurangabad (Odissi)
- 4th concert on 7 Nov - Abhivyakti group, Pune (Kathak)
The performances showcased different aspects of legends from Heritage Monuments from Aurangabad sites.
The program started with a Mangalacharan followed by a Battu. After this, a Ramayan was presented as a tribute to the Ramayan Panels seen in Ellora Caves. The program concluded with a pure dance piece- Moksh, according to the indian school of thought Moksha i.e Saluation that is the ultimate goal of every human being. The dancer tries to attain this ultimate bliss through dance The composition ended with a shloka seeking blessings of the Goddess.
