Ashoka University to hold museum walk, open house on 28th June 2014

Ashoka University is inviting students of class 11 and 12 and their parents to a workshop and an open house on June 28 at National Museum, New Delhi.

The workshop will serve as a simulation of the classroom learning environment at Ashoka. It will be conducted by Aparna Vaidik, associate professor of history at Ashoka University. Using historical and contemporary sources, the workshop will be examining the history of the archaeological artefacts excavated at the different Harappan sites now on display at the National Museum. The workshop will help students get an insight on the daily life of the Harappan men, women and children.

It will be followed by an open house hosted by Pramath Raj Sinha, founder and trustee, Ashoka University.

The open house is an opportunity for students and parents to interact with the faculty and admissions team of Ashoka University and engage in understanding new educational opportunities available in India today.

The university will welcome its first batch of undergraduates in September 2014 at a fully-residential 25-acre campus in Rajiv Gandhi Education City in the NCR near Sonepat, Haryana. Need-based scholarships worth ` 17 crore will be awarded to applicants. Ashoka’s interdisciplinary postgraduate programme, the Young India Fellowship, has existed since 2011 and attracts some of the brightest minds in the country.
