About APTET:
TET or Teacher Eligibility Test was introduced by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) wherein it laid down the minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. The test is conducted by various state governments to recruit teachers on large scale for Government/Zilla Parishad/Mandal Parishad/Municipal or Private aided schools. APTET or Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted in Andhra Pradesh state for the aspirants looking forward to join the teaching field in Andhra Pradesh in primary and high schools.
The test was introduced after a notification issued on August 23, 2012 by NCTE. The test, was developed to ensure that candidates recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching. It has also been mentioned in clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE ACT that TET is one of the qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher.
Eligibility Criteria:
For classes I-V:
- Aspirants should clear 10+2 their Senior Secondary with a minimum aggregate of 45%
- Candidates appearing in final 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4-year Bachelors in Elementary Education can also apply
- Candidates with a 2-year Diploma in Education in Special Education can also apply
- Candidates with B.A or B.Sc with a minimum aggregate of 50% can also apply
- Candidates who have cleared B.Ed can also apply
For classes VI-VIII:
- Applicants with a B.A or B.Sc degree
- Candidates appearing in final 2-year D.Ed/B.A./B.Sc. with a minimum aggregate of 45%
- Aspirants passed or appearing in B.Ed or Senior Secondary with a minimum aggregate of 50%
- Candidates appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or 4 years B.A or B.Sc. Ed or B.A (Ed.) or B.Sc. (Ed.) or B.Ed (Special Education) with a minimum aggregate of 50%
Application Procedure:
Eligible candidates need to apply online on the official website of APTET.
- Aspirants need to pay challan of Rs 300 via AP online or e-Seva centers even before submitting the form.
- The next step involves downloading of the user manual guide to proceed.
- Fill the online form by using the downloaded user manual guide.
- After submission of the online form applicants will receive an ID number which will be used in reference to hall ticket.
- After final submission take the printout.
Syllabus:
Candidates applying for APTET have to sit for two papers APTET Paper-1 and APTET Paper-2. Both the papers have 150 multiple types of questions. Each question carries 1 mark, there are no negative marking.
Syllabus for APTET Paper-1:
- Child Development and Pedagogy consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Language I consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Language II (English) consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Mathematics consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Environmental Studies consists 30 questions for 30 marks
Syllabus for APTET Paper-2:
- Child Development and Pedagogy consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Language I consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Language II (English) consists 30 questions for 30 marks
- Mathematics and Science (OR) Social Studies) consists of 60 questions for 60 marks
