There is a common question that comes to every management student’s mind - ‘what is best amongst CAT and MAT when both the entrances are pretty much the same? Why is MAT considered an easy test, when MAT based colleges provide management courses similar to CAT based management colleges? What are the things that students should keep in mind while appearing for MAT Test?

First of all, we should know that Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised management test for seeking admission in all post graduate programmes in management field in various B-Schools in India. It is conducted by Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA). You can appear for MAT Test as many times as there is no restriction of attempts. There are two formats of MAT Test i.e. Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test. You can choose any one of these modes to apply.
Now, let’s talk about the difficulty and competition level of MAT Test. MAT Test is comparatively easier than CAT Test. The competition level of MAT Test is also lower than CAT Test. One thing you should also know that there is no minimum percentage required to take MAT Test. However, the management institutes and universities have their own criteria and percentage requirements in graduation level.

Test Pattern and Duration of MAT:
MAT is an objective test that comprises multiple choice questions with 4 options. There is negative marking for each wrong answer.
