ATMA stands for AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA). It is conducted by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), Hyderabad. ATMA Test is one of the 6 national level entrance exams that are required to take admission to post graduate programmes in management. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

Exam Pattern:
ATMA is an objective test (multiple choice) with having 180 questions consisting of 6 sections. These 6 sections cover topics on Analytical Reasoning Skills, Verbal Skills and Quantitative Skills. You will have 3 hours to answer this exam where each question will have 4 options and you will have to choose the right one. You will get 1 mark for each correct answer. There will be negative marking of 1/3 for your each wrong answer.

Though ATMA test is not a difficult test as CAT is, it is always good to be extra prepared for any entrance exam. So here are some preparation tips that you should follow to appear in ATMA Test. As we mentioned earlier, that there are 3 topics that are covered in 6 sections, you must know how to prepare for these topics to do well in exam. Here are some section wise tips to be followed while preparing for exam:-
How to Prepare:
Analytical Reasoning Skills: - This section includes questions on Data Sufficiency, Statement Implication, Cause Effect, Analogies etc.
(Suggestion: - You should brush up your basic Mathematics skills by solving as many questions as you can.)
Verbal Skills: - This section tests your reading comprehension skills, Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability, grammar and usage of words.
(Suggestion: - You should read magazines, newspapers, articles as much as you can. You should also watch English news channels to see the usage of words in different ways.)
Quantitative Skills: - In this section, you will be asked questions on basic Mathematics, Probability, Permutation etc.
(Suggestion: - You should take as many mock tests as you can to do well in this section. You can refer to 10th and 12th standard Mathematics books.)
Although, there will be quantitative section that comprise of questions on the basis of Mathematical sums, no calculator or any other gadgets will be allowed in the test centre. You can’t bring even switched-off mobile in the test centre. ATMA has test centres in 6 cities across India. The test centres are as follows:-

You can choose two test centres as per your preferences at the time of registration. Though, the test is computer-based, you cannot use your own computer to give this test. You have to go to the allotted test venue.
