Born on 14th March, 1879 in Germany, Albert Einstein through his discoveries and theories changed the way one looked at physics. His innovations and vision created a large impact on the world of science as well as the society. He was considered as a great philosopher and humanist who was actively involved in world and social affairs of high importance and even worked against racism in America.

Some interesting facts about Albert Einstein:

• Einstein thought of himself to be agnostic and not an atheist. He believed that nothing is known or can be known of the existence and nature of God.
   
• Since childhood, Einstein showcased his love and skills for mathematics and by the age of 15 he mastered calculus! However, it is interesting to know here that Einstein couldn’t remember names, dates, phone numbers etc and had a bad memory.
   
• Einstein’s brain was stolen by the pathologist – Thomas Harvey - who made his body’s autopsy and kept in a jar for many years. It was discovered that the brain had a parietal lobe that was almost 15% larger than the average brain. Also, Einstein’s eyeballs have been preserved in a box in New York City.
   
• Albert Einstein did not clear his university entrance exam in the first attempt. He applied for the same a year later and then cracked it!
   
• It is popularly believed that Einstein received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921 for his contribution to the Theory of Relativity. However, he was awarded the same for his explanation of the Photoelectric Effect which further led to the evolution of Quantum Theory!
