Admissions Open for Ph.D Programme in IISER Bhopal

Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal announces applications for admissions into Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) as well as the department of Chemical Engineering (CHE). These admissions are for the semester commencing from August 2022. Eligible students can apply by May 25.

Eligibility Criteria

• Aspiring candidate must be an Indian citizen.
• M.Tech/M.E. /M.S. Degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 on a scale of 10 points.
• Aspirants should have qualified any of the National level examinations including CSIR-JRF/UGC-JFR/JEST/UGC/CSIR (applicant with M.S. degree from abroad are exempted from this).
• Age limit for General category applicants is not more than 28 years, whereas OBC candidates will get 3 years of age relaxation and SC/ST/PH/Female applicants five years.

Application Procedure

• Online applications- May 09, 2022 to May 25,2022
• Candidates should keep a printout of online form.
• Once short-listed, candidates are required to bring the printout of the online form and submit it when called for interview.
• All selected candidates will be eligible for a fellowship of INR 25,000/ either offered by the Institute or funding agency as per existing norms, which will be subject to satisfactory performance by the candidate.

IISERs were created in 2006 through a declaration of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. This was done to encourage quality education and research in basic sciences.

IISER Bhopal was introduced in 2008. It offers BS-MS programmes, integrated Ph.D. programme in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics aside from Ph.D. programme in Chemistry, Earth, Biological Sciences, Physics, Mathematics and Environmental Sciences.
