The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will soon make an announcement about giving scholarships worth Rs. 21 crore to 10,000 students in the national capital.
Led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the party wants to focus on improving the standard of education in Delhi, which is one of their top priorities.
In an interview with IANS, Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia said, “A lot of money was spent in the education sector by the previous Congress government, but in an unplanned manner. I am going to make an announcement soon that we will give scholarships to 10,000 students in the higher education sector.”
"In the name of scholarships an amount of Rs.21 crore was lying with the government. There are students who need money," Sisodia added.
The latest plan by the AAP will surely bring smiles to students who are not able to afford higher education.
Meanwhile, the AAP government has vowed to open 500 new schools in Delhi and has also issued a warning to private schools that education sector is not meant for profit-making.
In addition, the government has also started a helpline to handle grievances of parents who face trouble regarding nursery admission procedures.
