The third National IT Conclave held at Jaipuria Institute of Management on February 15, 2014 at Indore Campus.
The event proved to be a good learning experience for the future managers having the theme of “Social Media Remodelling the Business Organizations”. Various guest speakers were invited to express their views on the topic and enhance the understanding of students. Prof. Jitendra Mishra, Prof. Nitin Merh, Prof. Pooja Kushwah, Prof. Charu Dubey, Prof. Priti Bakhshi along with the other Faculty members was present at this Conclave. The event started with lighting of the lamp and offering prayer to the Goddess Saraswati.
Prof. Jitendra Mishra, Programme Chair, JIM Indore initiated with highlighting that in past Technology was the support function but with changing trends, it has become a part of core functions. There are two major functions that we need to consider, first one is how digital technology can be used in growth and secondly, how can we embed it with core functions and create synergy. Trust, security and data management are few challenges that need to be solved.
“Digital technology is playing an important role in terms of relevant information spreading, data analytics and storage of data”, said Prof. Nitin Merh, Faculty of IT at Jaipuria, Indore.
The first guest speaker was Mr, Pranav Singhi, Director at Operations department, Zootout.com. He is currently working in developing National Expansion Plans.
Mr. Singhi spoke on “Innovative Business and Harness Digital Technology. He stressed on the point that Innovation has to be something that is new, non-existent, something required and can be scaled to all levels.He further stressed on New Era of Digital technology from website, how the paid advertisements have become the changing trends of social media. He discussed about start-ups and entrepreneurship and major challenges that we need to consider.
The second guest speaker of the day was Mr Kunal Kansa , Director at Orlando Academy Solutions.He initiated with the stages of development where person has evolved from early man to Smart Man.He further discussed on E-Business category and Golden Era In computing and different styles of offering services by way of digital technology.
An Online Social Media Competition was also organized at this Conclave by the efforts of IT Club coordinator & Media relations Team of Jaipuria, Indore in which Ms. Ancy Johnson, PGDM 2013-15. JIM Indore won a cash prize of Rs 3000 by commenting a relevant answer on the question flagged at Institute’s FB page. Her comment was liked by the maximum number of viewers and hence she was declared as the winner of this competition.
Students from other B schools also joined the Conclave and experienced a good learning through the talks and made full use of the opportunity given to them in order to listen to these renowned speakers who were eminent in the field of Information Technology.
