The course, started this year by Delhi University, has 840 seats on offer in six Delhi University colleges.
According to those who appeared for the examination, the questions were basic, though aspirants found the mathematics section a little difficult to crack.
“The test paper had questions from commerce, economics, mathematics as well as English. I thought the paper was pretty simple, especially the language section,” said Archie Kohli, a resident of east Delhi who had come to Deen Dayal Upadhyay College in west Delhi to take the test.
Some aspirants, however, complained about certain questions in mathematics.
“We were told that the mathematics portion would be very basic in the entrance test but there were questions from differentiation, which is definitely higher mathematics,” said Vandana Kapoor, another aspirant.
But what turned out to be the most surprising element for many was the English section in the paper.
“Anyone who knows even basic English would have been able to crack the section very easily. It seemed like the questions were out of a Class 9 text book,” said Arshmeet Baveja, an aspirant.
The question paper had objective multiple-choice questions and wrong answers will be marked negatively.
The varsity introduced the course after it did away with three undergraduate courses: BBE, BBS and BFIA. All three courses were very popular among students and saw very good placement figures as well.
The course will now come under the Faculty of Management Studies. The final merit list will depend on the candidate’s Class 12 marks (30%), the performance in the test (50%) and an interview (20%).
