Learning is not a day’s work or a year’s job it continues throughout a person life. A person learns something new even during his last breath. The only way to grow throughout our life is to acquire knowledge and spread it as much as we can. In view of this thought Jaipuria Institute of management, organized a two day workshop for case writing. The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Jayashimha, IIM Indore.

Dr. Jayashimha has been faculty member in various B-schools and has won many awards. At present he is associated with IIM Indore. He has published in various national and international reputed journals such as Journal of Strategic Management, IIMB Management Review, Ivey Publishing etc. He is a renowned Indian name in the field of case writing.

 

 

This workshop is a curtain raiser for the Case Writing Symposium on Management on 6th February 2022. This symposium would be a collaborative event organized by Jaipuria Indore and National Entrepreneurship Network. Participants of this workshop were faculty members and research scholars affiliated to universities in and outside Indore.

This workshop started with the seeking of blessings from goddess Saraswati following which  Harshvardhan Halve gave a brief on the agenda of this workshop.  He said that this workshop is an initiative towards building a strong repository of Management cases in the Indian context, which are well written and peer reviewed. Dr. Megha Jain introduced the workshop to all, stating the objectives of the workshop which primarily included increasing faculty effectiveness and efficiency.

 

 

Dr. Jayashimha talked about overview of case writing and teaching in management education. Further he added information about type of writing, style of writing, teaching cases and case research. Three cases were circulated to the participants to grasp the initial idea about different types of writing. Later development of a case was discussed and participants did case writing under the guidance of resource person. During this session Dr. Jayashimha gave all the required inputs.

At the end of the workshop, Prof. Aditi Naidu gave a brief on the soon to be organized National Symposium on Case writing in February. Participants provided a positive feedback of the workshop.'
